words • tagged • status • outfit It wasn't normal to hunt your own kind. Yet then again there wasn't really much normal about Ruby. She was a demon, yes. But she always had been that little bit different, that little bit closer to being human & having a conscience. Well sort of - maybe not exactly a conscience, but something like that. Ruby remembered what it was like to be human, that is what really made her different. That & because she willingly worked with a hunter. Sam had taught her things, he helped her remember what being human was like. Yet what Ruby taught Sam was a lot more valuable. Soon enough he would be strong enough to wipe Lilith out. He could become a leader if he wanted to, but that wasn't likely as he was still a hunter.
It had been a few days since Ruby had actually seen Sam, sure she had spoken to him, but she hadn't actually seen him. A little hard to be around him with Dean there, then you add the angels. Not a place Ruby particularly wanted to be. Surprisingly the angels hadn't tried to stop her from working with Sam's powers. Working not exactly the best word, feeding was probably a better word. It was her blood making it stronger after all. If the angels even knew what was causing Sam to become stronger, they mustn't really care too much. They would have come after at least one of them if they did. Even still it would be handy to know what they were planning. Ruby didn't know a spell to do that though, what she did know was how to find where they are since they never covered up what they were doing. Currently though, Ruby was trying a different spell. She wasn't one to often use what she learned back when she was human, but it did come in handy at times. This spell was meant to locate the nearest threats to the person preforming the spell. It would help Ruby know if Lilith or the angels were on to her.
There was a sound of a car approaching, bringing Ruby out of her thoughts. It made no sense for a car to be this far away from the nearby towns, let alone pulling up at a old farmhouse that hadn't been used in years. Ruby blew out the three candles she had lit, her spell would have to wait. Unless this was someone she was about to search for. Then hopefully she could get out alive so she could warn Sam that someone had decided to track her down after all. Not turning around, Ruby just closed her eyes, concentrating for any signs of who had come. It wasn't likely to be Lilith or an angel, they had no need for a car. But you never knew what tricks they would play on her. Make her feels safe before taking her out of the picture. Death by angels or Lilith? The angels would possibly be the preferable choice as they would only send her back to hell. Lilith would kill her.
As soon as the door opened Ruby could tell who it was, without even turning to check, Ruby smiled & re-lit one of the candles. "Hello Sam. Your getting good at finding me. How have you been?" Ruby stood, turning to face Sam. She could tell something was on his mind. Ruby smiled as she walked over to him. "What's the matter Sam? You can tell me. You know I am here if something is on your mind." Ruby didn't like to push Sam to get him to talk, she already had pushed him away from his gentle nature to get his powers to come this far. To push him to talk would be expecting too much. What really did Sam give her compared to what she gave him? Other than his love. Sam needed her, she was the only one who understood how it felt to be different from the others of your kind. Not that Sam really was much of hunter anymore. Sure he still killed demons. He was just that little more closer to her species than before. Lyrics from Turning Tables by Adele. Picture by Aurora. Table by (( Aurora !! of Caution 2.0.
